Overview
After successfully working alongside Balfour Beatty at Midhurst Rother College PP Construction were asked to assist at Magna Academy, Poole after Balfour Beatty were let down by their previous contractor. The main works included the complete refurbishment of the existing school, an extension and considerable external works. As such careful co-ordination was required with other key contractors to ensure that the works were carried out as safely as possible.
Scope of Works
Initially PP Construction were contracted to carry out £400k of internal drainage and forming of pad foundations in order to ensure Balfour Beatty’s constricted programme was not delayed. Once these works were nearing completion additional works were negotiated and carried out to a total value of 1.5M. These works included ground and first floor in-situ concrete slabs, additional internal and external drainage, service installation, external works and the forming of a highly specified paved amphitheatre.
